1. Managing Plastic Bags in Extreme Heat
Plastic bags and vinyl bags are not very resistant to heat, so you need to be careful about how you store them.

The melting point of typical low-density polyethylene is around 100 degrees Celsius, but in reality, it starts to deform and deteriorate at a much lower temperature, around 80 degrees.

Also, even if it doesn’t reach 80 degrees, it will deform if it is exposed to direct sunlight for a long time.

Especially in extreme heat, if left outdoors, the quality will deteriorate, such as deformation and decrease in film strength.

Please store film products such as plastic bags indoors, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures.

2. Life in the Philippines Diary
In this issue, I will talk about the inspection tour of Metro Manila.

At our company, we conduct an inspection tour of Metro Manila for business travelers who are visiting the Philippines for the first time, in order to give them a better understanding of the actual situation in the Philippines.

The inspection tour of Metro Manila is conducted in the following order:

Intramuros, San Agustin Church, Fort Santiago
Tondo district (slum area), Smokey Mountain (former garbage dump)
MALL OF ASIA (huge shopping mall)
Okada Manila (casino)
BGC (Bonifacio Global City)
Speaking of tourist spots in the Philippines, “Intramuros” is a must-see. Within Intramuros is the San Agustin Church. It is a Catholic church built during the Spanish colonial period and is registered as a World Heritage Site.

All the business travelers said that the most impressive place was the “Tondo district.” It is said that more than 600,000 poor people live in this very small area.

There are people who make money by sorting garbage, and many small children are also working. It is poorer than Japanese people imagine.

Of course, it is dangerous, so we do not get out of the car and just drive through the main road. When you open the car window, the smell of raw garbage is strong and unbearable.

After that, we take a walk around the MALL OF ASIA, a huge shopping mall. Even I, who have been there many times, still get lost.

There are about 1,000 stores, and it is simply huge. Also, when you go to a shopping mall, you will see that the customers are mostly young people and children, with few elderly people, which shows that the average age of the population is 24 years old.

Okada Manila is a huge casino with a hotel and shopping mall, and the atmosphere changes dramatically again. The exterior is shiny gold and the interior is shiny pink.

BGC is an abbreviation for Bonifacio Global City, a high-class area with high-rise buildings and condominiums. BGC High Street has a 1km stretch of restaurants and shops. It is safe, has a luxurious atmosphere, and is enjoyable just to walk around.

Through this inspection tour of Metro Manila, business travelers said things like:

“There are too many electric wires, I wonder how they can manage them.”
“Japanese people are blessed.”
“The driving is crazy.”
“I realized the gap between rich and poor.”
They experienced and understood that the environment in the Philippines is completely different from that in Japan. I realized that actually going to the site, seeing and experiencing things is the best way to learn.

This tour is recommended because it allows even short-term business travelers to learn about the actual situation in the Philippines in a short time.
