1. What is Anti-Static Film?
Anti-static film, used in the electronic component industry and for cleanrooms, operates on the following principle:

Hydrophilicity is Key: A surfactant is added to the film surface, or the film itself forms a highly hydrophilic layer. This layer adsorbs moisture from the air and instantly releases static electricity into the air, maintaining anti-static properties and conductivity.

Carbon for Enhanced Conductivity: To achieve even higher conductivity, carbon can be kneaded into the film. By incorporating conductive additives such as carbon black, static electricity is diffused throughout the film, suppressing charge buildup. While this provides high conductivity, it also has drawbacks such as blocking light.

The higher the anti-static effect, the higher the cost. Therefore, our recommendations vary depending on the application and necessity.

2. Life in the Philippines Diary
This time, I’d like to talk about the rainy season in the Philippines.

The rainy season in the Philippines has begun in earnest, and the typhoon season has arrived.

First, heavy rain and typhoons increase traffic congestion. Manila already has a lot of traffic, but it gets even worse during the rainy season, becoming an unavoidable situation.

Roads often get flooded, making it impossible for cars to move. It’s not uncommon for commute times to be 3 or 4 times longer than usual.

Due to the weak drainage system, flooding occurs easily when there is heavy rain. Just the other day, there was flooding near Alabang on the SLEX, and many cars were stranded.

On rainy days, checking the traffic conditions on Google Maps can help you avoid unexpected traffic jams.

In my experience, when roads are shown in red on Google Maps, the actual arrival time is often considerably later than expected.

Even more troublesome are the frequent power outages. Rain and wind can damage power lines, leading to power outages.

Sudden power outages not only force production to stop but also increase the risk of machine failure. Furthermore, it can take longer than expected for power to be restored.

Although it wasn’t a power outage, our company once experienced an internet line cut due to a typhoon, and it took several months to restore. The same phenomenon occurred in every area, and even after following up, they didn’t come to repair it for a long time.

In this way, the rainy season in the Philippines brings a lot of damage. I pray that there will be no heavy rains or typhoons that cause major disasters this year.
